House System
When you come to Speyside you will find that pupils are in one of three big groups. We call these groups HOUSES. Each House contains pupils from all years from first year right up to sixth year.
Schools can have a lot of fun running competitions such as sports, swimming galas, quizzes and so on. Some of these events are against other schools, but many are run within the school itself. The teams for these competitions are often representing the Houses.
Teachers are also part of the House system. Each House has a group of Registration Tutors who, as well as dealing with attendance at school, have a special part to play in helping you to plan your homework.
The names of the Houses at Speyside High School are:
New starters - you will be told which House you are in when you visit Speyside in June.
Your House will also have a Guidance Teacher who will take special interest in all pupils in your House. There are three Guidance Teachers at Speyside High School.
