DAILY PUPIL AND STAFF NOTES
Any announcement should be handed into the School Office by 8.55 am , signed by the member of staff submitting it, with a clear indication whether it is for pupil or staff notes.

All staff should collect a copy of the absence sheet from staffroom pigeonholes during the morning interval and read all relevant announcements to their classes at the beginning of period 3.

NOTICEBOARDS
Information is placed on the Staffroom Noticeboard by the responsible member of SMT according to category.   EIS and SSTA have noticeboard areas allocated.   The pinboard above the work surface is available for other staff use.   Notices should not be placed on non-pinboard surfaces.

The main general information noticeboard for pupils is next to the tuckshop.

Staff are asked not to use sellotape or drawing pins on any painted or varnished surfaces.

TANNOY
Use of the tannoy is restricted to minimise disruption to classes and may only be used with the permission of the Rector or a Depute Rector in exceptional circumstances.

TELEPHONE SYSTEM
A list of telephone extensions is provided overleaf.

An outside call may be made from any extension by dialling 9 for school business calls.

The Office fax machine is available for the transmission of documents.

In order to minimise disruption to teaching, the internal telephone system should be used with discretion. The School Office will not normally interrupt a teacher in a classroom with an incoming call, but will take a message.

Pupils should not be permitted unsupervised access to a direct dialling outside extension.

SCHOOL NOTES FOR THE PRESS
School Notes are written on Wednesday morning. Contributions from staff describing curricular or extra-curricular activities of interest are welcome. These should be submitted to the Rector by 4.00pm on Tuesday.

School Notes will normally be sent to both the Northern Scot and Press and Journal each week.

Any member of staff who wishes to submit information to the press or broadcast media about any school activity should first consult the Rector who is responsible for press relations.

EMAIL
All staff are expected to check their email on a daily basis.

E-mail will be used for important forms of communication of which staff will be expected to be aware on a daily basis.
