Security of Staff, Pupils and School Property

All Teaching Staff are expected to report to school at the beginning of each timetabled day and to inform both their line manager and School Office if out of school during any part of a school day.

Staff are expected to wear identity badges at all times in school.

Staff are expected to take reasonable precautions to ensure that the security of property and equipment is safeguarded.

Money must not be kept in drawers or filing cabinets.   Any money collected must be taken to the office and a pay-in slip completed, preferably before 2.00 pm to allow it to be banked.

Classroom doors should be locked during intervals and lunchtimes and ground floor classroom windows should be closed.   Staff should also ensure that classroom lights are switched off at these times and other times when rooms are not in use.

All keys must be kept in the Janitor's Office overnight, from where they may be collected in the morning and returned at the end of the day. Keys for filing cabinets and cupboards should be attached to room keys by a key ring.

Any loss of a school key must be reported to the janitor immediately.

Please note that pupils should not be permitted unsupervised access to classrooms before registration or during intervals or lunchtime.
